Kristiansand, Norway, January 28th, 2026 – UMOE Advanced Composites (UAC) today announced the appointment of Lars Erik Lunøe as Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1, 2026.

The appointment comes as UAC scales production delivering more Type IV glass-fibre pressure vessels in 2025 than in any previous year. UAC recently opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in China through its subsidiary UMOE Advanced Composites Technology (UACT), positioning the company to serve growing demand across Asia-Pacific markets.
Lunøe brings more than 20 years of industrial and executive leadership experience, with a strong background in the maritime sector. Most recently, he served as CEO of Telenor Maritime, part of Telenor ASA, from 2019 to 2025. Prior to this, he held the position of Managing Director at Survitec Group, a global leader in safety and survival solutions for the marine, aviation, offshore and defence sectors, and at Maritime Protection AS, which designs and manufactures gas systems for maritime and offshore applications. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Norwegian Maritime Exporters since 2021 and brings 14 years of leadership experience from NATO and the Royal Norwegian Navy and Air Force.
“Lars Erik has exactly the profile we need for UAC’s next chapter,” said Tove Røskaft, Chair of the Board. “We’re moving from a single-site manufacturer to a global industrial platform, with ambitious targets for production capacity and new market entry as demonstrated with record high order intake in 2025.
“He brings extensive senior leadership experience, including from the maritime industry, which is a key application area for UAC’s Type IV pressure vessels as shipping accelerates its decarbonisation efforts.”
“I am delighted to join UMOE Advanced Composites, a remarkable entrepreneurial success story originating in Kristiansand and now serving customers in nearly 40 countries,” said Lars Erik Lunøe. My priority is to accelerate the company’s international expansion while maintaining the innovation and quality that made UAC the global leader in Type IV glass-fibre pressure vessels. I’m looking forward to working with the team to capture this opportunity.”
Lunøe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Administration from the BI Norwegian Business School and the Royal Norwegian Air Force Academy (Luftkrigsskolen).
